Feeder Groups - The truth
What is a Feeder Group?
As part of the Explorer Scout programme
it is required that link events are completed with Scout Groups
from the district. To make sure all the groups are covered a selection
of groups where chosen for each unit to link too.
As well as the link events it is expected
that Explore Scout leaders from time to time visit groups to assist
with the Moving on process. To make this more manageable we needed
each unit to look over several groups within it's area.
Which Unit looks after my Group?
Good Question. Below is a list of the
Units and it's Feeder Groups. It is hoped that when ever possible
Explorer Scout Leaders will come and visit your Troop nights. However
if you feel that you are missing out then please contact us direct
- there are more of you than us!

Do my Scouts have to attend the selected Unit?
Another common question. Easy answer is
no. A Scout can attend any unit that they want to, they can attend
all the meetings each week if they want (and some do!!!).
Can my Scouts change Unit if they don't like
it?
Of course, it's just the same if a Beaver,
Cub or Scout is in a Group that they are not happy with. At the
end of the day the exercise is to keep hold off members, not drive
them away!
I have never seen an Explore Scout Leader
down at my Group!
If this is true then please contact Stan
Rimmer. His details are on the Contact Us
page.
I've heard of these partnership agreements
and want to know why we do not have them!
The Explorer Scout leaders felt that drawing
up contracts was not true "Scouting" and felt that abiding
by the Scout Law and promise as we all do was a stronger bind.
I have a question that was not answered by
these shown above. What do the Explorer Scout Leaders plan to do
about it?
Easy enough, just contact us. We are a
highly motivated team, and are all capable of answering your questions
and queries. If you want a visit again get in touch, we would only
be to happy to come down and see your group. Get in touch with either
Stan or a specific leader through the Contact
