Camp Clueless. Advice for the beginner.

Camping the way WE do it!. OK, so its a Guide site but its full of good information.

Pitching a Tent. This site shows guidelines for Pitching and Striking the most common type of tent for Summer Camps, the Patrol Tent.

Safety with Axes and Saws. Axes and saws are possibly the most useful pieces of equipment you'll find on a Scout Camp, after tents, but also one of the most dangerous.

Camp Sites and Activity Centres Activity UK

Activity UK at the Llangorse Rope Centre, houses the largest indoor climbing and riding centres in Wales.

Adventure Days. Outdoor Pursuits in the Lake District orYorkshire Dales.

Alternative Adventure and Outdoor Activities Service.Outdoor Activities Service are a professional organisation, delivering a range of high-quality, outdoor-oriented, Activity, Teamwork, Educational, Skill, and Personal-Development, courses, at all skill-levels. OAS are AALA licensed, and are accredited, National Governing Body course providers.

Ashworth Valley Scout Campsite. The website of the Ashworth Valley Scout Campsite near Manchester.

Auchengillan. Auchengillan provides a safe venue for young people to experience some of the best Scottish countryside amongst plentiful wildlife.

Avon Tyrrell. Avon Tyrrell Activity and Residential Centre is set in 50 acres of grounds near the village of Bransgore in the New Forest, England.

Bach Ventures. Self-catering holiday and camping accommodation in Snowdonia, North Wales.

Barnswood Scout Camp. An informal site suitable for all scouting activities. It has 25 secluded camp sites in 65 acres of woodland good covered accommodation & modern amenitiesgood climbing hiking & canoeing facilities nearby.

Beaudesert Park. Situated in Staffordshire is used predominately by members of the Scout and Guide Associations.

Belchamps Scout Centre. Belchamps is situated in 30 acres of pasture and woodland and only a few minutes walk away from 360 acres of public woodlands near Hockley in Essex.

Bispham Hall Scout Estate. Covers 65 acres of Woodland and camping areas, suitable for Patrol, Pack, Colony, Venture, District, County and Training Events.

Black Mountain Activities. Outdoor Pursuits Centre based in the Brecon Beacons National Park in South Wales.

Blackwell Court. Is an old country estate set amidst the beautiful Worcestershire countryside. They welcome all members of the Scout and Guide Associations and other recognised youth or educational organisations.

B-P International. The hotel that presents many facets of fascinating Hong Kong.

Bonaly. Scotland's Capital Camping Site has a wide range of facilities for use by everyone from Beaver Scouts to Venture Scouts and leaders.

Braggers Wood. First leased to Christchurch District Scouts in 1965 for use by the Scouts of the District for camping and other outdoor activities.

British Schools Exploring Society. BSES Expeditions, a UK based charity, was founded in 1932 by the late Surgeon Commander G. Murray Levick, a member of Scott's Antarctic Expedition of 1910, and as such is one of the longest running organisations of its type.

Broadstone Warren. Scout Camp and Activity Centre Located in Ashdown Forest, Sussex.

Buckmore Park. An established scouting activity centre, which is currently undergoing major development. Upon completion, the new centre will be available to a wide range of people, including corporate users.

Butchers Coppice. Owned by Bournemouth Scouts and is run and maintained entirely by voluntary staff.

Buddens. A Scout Activity Centre in Dorset that makes an excellent Base for cycling.

Bushy Wood Scout Camp. Situated on the main A22 Eastbourne to Uckfield road at Hailsham.

Calshot Activities Centre. Calshot is one of the largest Outdoor Education Centres in Britain situated in a unique position on the shores of the Solent and two kilometres from the New Forest.

Chalfont Heights. Chapel Outdoors Chapel Outdoors covers all ages from 6-106, schools to businesses - for any activity from pot-holing to mountaineering, gorge walking to raft building and everything in between !

Cranham. Gloucestershire County Scouts Scouting Centre. Cricket Camp. The site has been developed in the South of England by Scouts to be used by the Scout and Guide Movements and other youth organisations.

Decoy Broad Scout Campsite. Situated at the heart of the Norfolk Broads National Park.

Douglaswood Scout Centre. Belongs to, and is administered by, Dundee Area Scout Council.

Fairthorne Manor. Outdoor education and community resource situated on the upper reaches of the river Hamble.

Faulkes Flying Foundation. Provides flight training for Scouts countrywide from bases at Lasham, Cambridge and Dunstable.

Ferny Crofts. Ideally situated in the New Forest for orienteering, Duke of Edinburgh's Award programmes, pony trekking, natural history, conservation, bird and deer watching and many more activities.

Fordell Firs. One of the three National Scout Activity Centres situated throughout Scotland.

Gilwell Park Campsite. Situated on the edge of the picturesque Epping Forest, yet is within easy travelling distance of the sights of London.

Go Karting for Fun. Run indoor karting centres in the South of England.

Great Tower. Situated on the East side of Lake Windermere, midway between Bowness and Newby Bridge, Great Tower's 250 acres of heavily wooded and rocky terrain offer many varied camp sites.

Hardiman Fields. Warwickshire Guide Association's County Campsite.

Hawkhirst. Within the Kielder Forest.

Hesley Wood. Situated in Chapeltown, Sheffield, Hesley Wood Activity Centre is able to offer a range of excellent campsites of varying size appropriate for either small or large groups.

Hopehill. Based in Meopham, Kent Hopehill camping and training ground is within easy access of the M25, the A20 and the A2.

Jeka Group Holidays. JEKA have been organising holidays for youth groups since 1960.

Kandersteg International Scout Centre. Kandersteg International Scout Centre is the only world centre of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM).

Kingsdown. Kingsdown International Scout Campsite, Kent. Lagganlia Outdoor Experience.

Lapwing Lodge Scout Centre. Camping ground is a 25 acre activity centre situated beside Caplaw Dam on top of Gleniffer Braes, near Paisley, Scotland.

Llanrug Outdoor Education Centre. This is a non profit making organisation, owned and operated by Worcestershire County Council.

Lochgoilhead Centre. Welcomes any Organised group, adults seeking training, Education party Special Needs groups and Businesses.

Longsleddale Outdoor Pursuits Centre. A voluntary charitable organisation, based in the Lake District, set up to help young people experience the challenges of outdoor pursuits in safety.

Marrick Priory. The aim is to introduce young people and adults to the joys and thrills of the outdoor world in a place where the physical, social, mental and spiritual can all be developed.

Meggernie. Meggernie Outdoor Centre is one of the three National Scout Activity Centres situated throughout Scotland.

Moor Crag Water Activity Centre. Situated on the Eastern shore of Lake Windermere and adjacent to the 250 acre Great Tower Scout Camp Site Estate, the centre is ideally located for all types of water activities.

Outdoor Adventure. Offers Surfing, Windsurfing and Multi Activity Holiday Courses at Widemouth Bay, near Bude, Cornwall.

Outdoorlite Ventures. Specialises in providing fully qualified and safe instruction in Outdoor Pursuits, including Climbing, Abseiling, Walking, Navigation, and Outward Bound style courses.

PGL Activity Holidays. The Website of PGL Activity Holidays.

Phasels Wood. Phasels Wood scout camp site and activity centre, Kings Langley, Herts.

Polyapes. Polyapes is situated 100 feet above Blundel Lane (200 feet above mean sea level) and comprises of 23 acres of mature coniferous and deciduous woodland, together with open grassland.

Ratlingate Camping Centre. Ratlingate Camping Centre, Nr. Carlisle, Cumbria - run by Cumbria North & East Scouts.

Robinwood Activity Centres. Exists to provide multi-activity courses for school groups and individuals.

Shoreline Outdoor Pursuits. Shoreline's professional team of local instructors have had years of experience in teaching a wide range of outdoor pursuits.

The Quarries. Milton Keynes District Scout Council's campsite is ideally suited to patrol and group camping, incorporating large and small fields using the natural geographical features.

The Old School Lodge. This 19th Century Village School and adjacent Schoolmaster's house (now home to the full time Warden) has been converted into an Activity Centre and is run by Wallasey and West Wirral Scout Districts.

Thriftwood. International Scout Camp and Activity Centre, Essex. Tolmers Scout Camp and Activity Centre.

Tolmers Scout Camp and Activity Centre is owned and operated by Hertfordshire County Scout Council.

Tom McClean's Adventure Centre. Ideal for group holidays and for those who want to experience an activity holiday.

Venture Abroad. For over twenty five years Venture Abroad has been arranging summer camps and accommodation throughout Europe and beyond for groups of young people.

Venture Centre. The Venture Centre Outdoor Activity Centre was founded in 1981. It's unique location on the Isle of Man makes it an ideal venue for a wide range of outdoor pursuits.

Venture Forth Base. The Venture Forth Base is situated within the magnificent 250 acre wooded Great Tower close to Lake Windermere.

Waddecar Camping & Activity Centre. Waddecar is ideal for most Scouting & Guiding activities having a variety of camping terrain from field sites to leafy woodland and riverside pitches.

Woodhouse Park. The County Camping and Activity Centre of Avon Scouts.

Woodlarks Camp Site Trust. Woodlarks is a charity dedicated to providing a permanent camp site for people with disabilities of all ages.

Woodmill Outdoor Centre. Woodmill is located in parkland on the outskirts of Southampton. Activities include canoeing, kayaking, raft-building, rock climbing, abseiling, white water rafting, orienteering, archery, low ropes course, tunnelling, dragon boating, camping, environmental studies and problem solving exercises.

Youlbury International Scout Campsite. Youlbury, in Oxfordshire, is open throughout the year and welcomes Scouts, Guides and other youth organisations.

Cooking

Backwoods Cooking Recipes. Backwoods Cooking is a technique whereby food is cooked using as little, or preferably no, utensils as possible, except green sticks, tin foil and a knife.
